Upcoming Events:

The Junior Planning night for juniors and parents is on Tuesday March 16th at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. 

Applications for participating in the Job Shadow day scheduled for April 15th are available in Guidance.  They need to be returned as soon as possible, but before April 5th.

Now that course selection sheets have been returned to guidance, School Counselors will meet with all students individually to review their selections.  Passes will be distributed to students in homeroom starting the week of March 8th, so please check wtih your students on when they are scheduled to meet with their counselors. 

The College Fair at the CT Expo is scheduled for Thursday April 8th.  Students interested in taking the bus from RHHS during the day should pick up applications in Guidance.

UCONN's Early College Experience (ECE)

RHHS offers students the opportunity to enroll in college level courses through UConn Early College Experience (ECE).  UConn ECE is a concurrent enrollment program that provides the opportunity for motivated high school students to take UConn courses at their high schools.  Each course taken through UConn ECE is equivalent to the same course at the University of Connecticut.  For further information about the program please visit the Uconn ECE website at: www.ece.uconn.edu.

Guidance Mission Statement
Our mission as a Guidance Department is to systematically provide guidance and counseling to all students in order to facilitate Academic, Personal, Social and Career Development. We believe that our students should acquire this knowledge while appreciating individual and cultural diversity, so that they may become contributing members of a democratic society. The Guidance Program is an integral part of the total educational process. Rocky Hill High School has a comprehensive program that focuses on three domains which are sequential and developmentally appropriate.

Philosophy of the Counseling Department
The best predictor of success in adulthood is success in childhood and adolescence. The more successful Rocky Hill High School students can become, the better chance they will have for future success. The goal of the counselors is to assist all students in making the most of their talents so that they may be successful in all areas of their lives: academics, interpersonal relationships, and decision-making. To further these goals, the department provides Academic, Career, and Personal Counseling and Guidance for all students.
