Introduction The Board of Education has the statutory responsibility to establish the policies of the Rocky Hill Public Schools. Policies established by the Board serve five major purposes.
To delineate the responsibilities of the Board of Education, the school administration and staff, students, parents, and other members of the school community;
To implement state and federal mandates;
To address areas of significant concern;
To establish performance standards for the staff and students; and
To inform members of the school community and the public of these policies.
The Board of Education reserves the right to change, modify, temporarily waive or permanently revoke any policy, or part thereof, at any time. No policy should be construed to create a contract or give rise to any contractual or property rights. Subject to state and federal law, the Board of Education reserves the right to take such action or to ratify the action of the administration as it deems appropriate, given the specific circumstances relating to such action.
