Minutes of Meeting

 

 

A special meeting of the Facilities Committee of the Rocky Hill Board of Education was held on Tuesday, July 18, 2006, in the superintendent's conference room.  Present were:  Committee Chair Peter Arico; Committee Member Nadine Bell and Rene Rivard; Board Members: Jennifer Viggiano-Grosse, Catherine Vargas, and Neil Geldof; and Supt. of Schools J. A. Camille Vautour.  The meeting was called to order at 4:05 p.m.

 

Mr. Arico informed Committee members that he had arranged to have the PowerPoint presentation copied and he delivered them to Council Members on the evening of July 17, 2006.

 

Discussion ensued on attempting to encourage members of the public to become familiar with the contents of the Feasibility Study and the Facilities Committee PowerPoint presentation.  Three avenues of communication were discussed.

 

  • Encouraging members of the press to cover the upcoming public forums (August 29 and Sept 20, 2006).
  • Mailing notices home to all parents advising them as to the dates of the forums and encouraging their attendance.
  • Exploring the creation of a stand-alone video of the PowerPoint presentation for distribution over public access television.

 

The meeting adjourned 5:15 p.m.
