Minutes of Meeting

A special meeting of the Facilities Committee of the Rocky Hill Board of Education was held on Thursday, August 19, 2004, in the superintendent's conference room. Present were: J. Kirk Bostwick, Nadine Bell, Catherine Vargas, Peter Arico, Anne Schmidt, and Supt. of Schools Dr. J. A. Camille Vautour. The meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m.

Mr. Bostwick indicated that an amount of $20,000 had been identified by the Town Manager for the purposes of developing specifications for an auxiliary gym and storage space at the high school. Mr. Bostwick indicated his belief that the task could be accomplished for much less than $20,000 and perhaps it was time to take a broader look at the capacities of all the school sites in Rocky Hill.

Committee members raised questions about the portables at Stevens as well as the future of Moser School. Consensus was reached that an RFP should be created to assess the status of all the schools relative to space capabilities, etc.

The meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
