Minutes of Meeting

A special meeting of the Policy Committee of the Rocky Hill Board of Education was held on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, in the superintendent's conference room. Present were: Catherine Vargas, J. Kirk Bostwick, Charles McMonigle, Nadine Bell, and Supt. of Schools J. A. Camille Vautour. The meeting was called to order at 4:15 p.m.

Policy 4115.1, Policy regarding Athletic Coaches

Dr. Vautour presented proposed policy language concerning the evaluation and dismissal of athletic coaches. He indicated this policy was prompted by State legislation. The wording of the policy has been reviewed by Attorney Campane.

Policy 5141, Health & Safety

Revisions to this policy were recommended by Dr. Ann Milanese, the district’s medical advisor. The revisions focus primarily on communicable disease control, specifically tuberculoses risk assessment.

The committee agreed to submit both policies for first reading at the March 17, 2005 Board meeting. Second reading and adoption will be scheduled for the April 7, 2005 Board meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 4:50 p.m.
