Minutes of Meeting

A special meeting of the Finance Committee of the Rocky Hill Board of Education was held on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, in the superintendent's conference room. Present were: Anne Schmidt, Nadine Bell, Peter Arico, Francis Palazzolo, Neil Geldof, Director of Finance & Operations Gregory P. Turansky, and Supt. of Schools Dr. J. A. Camille Vautour. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m.

Mr. Turansky reviewed the status of the 2004-05 budget indicating that it appeared we will have sufficient funds to cover all Board obligations for the current year. He indicated that an anticipated deficit in the special education tuition account will be offset by funds in the health insurance account. Dr. Vautour indicated that there is currently no intention of freezing accounts at this time.

Mr. Turansky informed the committee that the Governor’s proposed budget contains recommendations concerning the ECS Grant Project Choice and the Excess Cost Sharing Grant. The final impact for Rocky Hill is not yet clear.

The meeting adjourned at 9:30 a.m.
